Our Story
Founded in 1953, the New York City Chapter of AGA has served generations of professionals dedicated to accountability, transparency, and excellence in government.
The Chapter was originally incorporated as the Federal Government Accountants Association of New York, Inc. and was later renamed in 1989 as The Association of Government Accountants of New York, Inc.
Today, AGA New York City brings together professionals from federal, state, and local government, as well as the private, nonprofit, and academic sectors. Our members share a commitment to strengthening public service through collaboration, innovation, professional development, and continuous learning.
Through education, networking, leadership opportunities, community engagement, and support for the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM®) designation, we help government accountability professionals connect, grow, and lead.
AGA New York City Chapter is an IRS Section 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization committed to education, professional development, and advancing accountability in government.
